Bell Microproducts’ new line of network storage, the Hammer Z-Series, is now shipping. The company has added the Zetera Corp.’s Z-SAN Storage-over-IP (SoIP) technology to create the Hammer Z-Series.
According to Bell Microproducts, the Hammer Z-Series is the only technology available that delivers on the vision of SoIP, which uses Internetworking Protocol (IP) as the only storage fabric, eliminating the need for controllers, dedicated switches and RAID controllers that can also hinder performance.
