May 2, 2007 - Agfa Healthcare has extended its cardiovascular product line with the Agfa HealthCare Nuclear Cardiology solution, a new nuclear cardiology system that provides a single point-of-access to multiple image modalities to enhance cardiac patient care. The product reflects the company’s strategy to deliver an easy-to-use vehicle for comprehensive reporting that meets the national standards established by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
The system is designed for multimodality image reviews and quantitative analysis for nuclear cardiology and cardiology departments. A view of patient exams is displayed on a dual-monitor Cardiovascular Review Station.
The Nuclear Cardiology report module is said to fully incorporate the standards established by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL).
“Rather than creating applications for each individual lab, the company has chosen to focus on the national standards. This solution will actually help make some labs practice better medicine, by providing a means of adopting accreditation standards as recommended by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Nuclear Laboratories,” said Gary V. Heller, M.D., Ph.D., director, nuclear cardiology, Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT.
