In an effort to make digital imaging available to a wider variety of facilities, Siemens Medical Solutions plans to launch the first mobile X-ray unit with an integrated computed radiography reader at next week’s annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America. The MobileTT XP CR provides display for first-image review and image archiving right at the patient’s bedside.
The system is ideally suited, the manufacturer says, for the most demanding mobile imaging tasks in the intensive care unit, neonatal and pediatric departments, and surgery ward. Improved clinical workflow functions enable clinicians to perform basic image processing tasks directly on the system.
The system’s integrated CR reader, with a reading capacity of 60 cassettes per hour, allows it to serve as a centralized single-plate CR reader for multiple rooms or ICUs. It can also be used as emergency backup for the centralized CR reader.
