November 1, 2007 - Siemens showcased CTVision, an upgraded version of the PRIMATOM that reportedly brings powerful, high-contrast image-guidance to radiation treatment delivery by integrating a linear accelerator and a CT that travels along rails, at ASTRO, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2007.
The system uses CT image-guidance to enable diagnostic imaging of the patient on the treatment table. Eliminating the need to move the patient from room to room for separate exams reportedly makes the patient’s experience easier and more timely. Equipped with the latest Adaptive Targeting software, CTVision enhances a facility’s workflow, productivity and precision by allowing direct comparison of daily patient anatomy to the original planning data, increasing opportunities to implement benchmark concepts such as daily replanning, according to the company.
