Siemens Medical Solutions has introduced Clear Technology, a new platform that focuses on optimization of the radiation parameters prior to fluoroscopy and image processing during fluoroscopy to optimize image quality.
Developed for the Siemens’ Axiom Artis angiographic systems, the solution automatically considers the tilt angle of the C-arm and the position of the patient table to then compute the angle of incidence with respect to the patient, and at the same time calculates the simulated size and weight of the patient. Image processing is performed during fluoroscopy at a frame rate of up to 30 frames per second. The system reduces image noise with each frame to increase the visibility of organs and interventional tools, such as catheters, guide wires and stents, and to capture images of small vessels.
