July 16, 2007 - The 8th annual DHIMS (Digital Healthcare Information Management Systems) Conference, formerly known as the PACS Conference, will be held March 25-29, 2008 at The Westin La Cantera, San Antonio, TX. The University of Rochester’s Department of Imaging Sciences-sponsored conference will focus on interoperability, workflow and other important issues facing the digital environment.
DHIMS 2008 will begin with a day-long PACS Primer covering the ABCs of implementing a digital environment and the impact the digital environment will have on the workflow and productivity, providing users with a better understanding of the technology associated with the systems they will use to manage and interpret imaging studies.
Nationally recognized faculty will cover topics such as:

- Productivity Enhancements
- Change Management
- Communications
- Storage Management
- Maintaining DHIMS
- Security, Privacy & Risk Management
- Economics of DHIMS
Technology updates will be presented on workstations, CR and DR, digital mammography, handling large data sets and optimizing the display of information.
Three workshops: Interoperability Demonstrations, Integrated Clinical Application Workstation Workshop and Advanced Visualization Workstation Workshop, will also be offered.
