GE Healthcare introduced at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons meeting in San Diego, CA, the Definium 5000, a compact U-arm on a floor mounted tubestand system designed for orthopedic imaging, allowing the X-ray tube and the detector to remain in alignment reportedly to speed up patient positioning and increase throughput.
The Definium 5000 has a single detector configuration that uses the same digital flat panel 41 x 41 Cesium Iodide detector technology found on the rest of the Definium product line. Also available as an add-on feature is an elevating or non-elevating mobile table with a weight limit of 495 lbs. The Definium 5000 will be available for shipment in June.
