The new 3MP (CCL354i2), 2MP (CCL254i2) color LCDs have a maximum luminance of 800cd/m_ (3MP) and 950cd/m_ respectively. The new color LCDs accurately reproduce monochrome images with the same quality as monochrome LCDs, according to the company. These LCDs address the increasing usage of concurrent monochrome and color medical images. The new LCDs are said to provide greater benefits to users by enhancing user convenience while reducing costs.
Color medical images used in systems such as 3D renderings, endoscopes and ultrasound diagnostic systems are on the rise. It has become more important in making accurate diagnoses to view the color and X-ray monochrome images alongside one another. In order to meet this demand, color LCDs are required to accurately reproduce both color images and high-quality monochrome images.
The new Engineering models were exhibited at the 17th Meeting of the Japanese Association of Breast Cancer Screening held in Pacifico Yokohama from Nov. 21-22, and at RSNA 2007 (Radiological Society of North America) in Chicago. This new Production grade product with all safety and FDA approved monitors will be available directly from U.S. Electronics, Inc. (USEI).
