New CMS Administrator Named

HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt named Leslie Norwalk as acting administrator for the CMS effective Oct. 15. Norwalk has served as deputy administrator for the agency that oversees $740 billion in federal spending on Medicare and Medicaid. She replaces Mark McClellan, who resigned from the CMS on Sept. 5.
