February 26, 2008 - MDnetwork Inc. and M*Modal entered into an agreement to combine each company’s services in order to provide better clinical documentation, allowing MDnetwork clients to use M*Modal’s advanced speech understanding technology, AnyModal CDS(Conversational Documentation Service), which combines speech recognition and natural language understanding to capture and comprehend clinical information from dictation, transforming it directly into accessible, retrievable and shareable electronic files.
The resulting structured data integrates into existing PACS, RIS, and EHRs by creating a Meaningful Clinical Document, which allows for advanced communication functions not currently possible with conventional transcribed text reports, according to the company. By following healthcare industry reporting standards (HL7 CDA), the data can be accessed, edited, and reviewed across departments through a number of flexible formats. Additionally, the technology supports streamlined report sharing across multivendor healthcare practitioners and facilities.
