February 13, 2008 - Metrologic Instruments Inc. said it is featuring two new products, the MS7580 Genesis presentation area imager and the MS9590 VoyagerGS trigger-activated hand-held laser scanner, at the HIMSS conference Feb. 24–28 in Orlando, FL.
The MS9590 VoyagerGS is the newest addition to the world’s best-selling series of hand-held, single-line laser scanners. The maker says the VoyagerGS improves on the Voyager product platform with 25 percent faster scanning and a 50 percent increase in the working range. These advancements will aid performance for various healthcare applications, including bedside medication verification.
The MS7580 Genesis is the one of the world’s first presentation area imager engineered to decode all standard 1D and 2D codes associated with the healthcare community, such as GS1 DataBar, ISBT128, PDF417 and Data Matrix.
Genesis has automatic cable detection and configuration for its multiple, on-board interfaces. This feature simplifies installation and integration for healthcare environments that execute a variety of applications, including document management, lab sample tracking and patient record management
Metrologic will also exhibit its family of single-line and omnidirectional bar code scanners and area imagers.
