July 19, 2007 - Advanced visualization software developer Mercury Computer Systems has introduced three new 3-D offerings, OpenRTRT, DirectViz and Patchwork 3D, all designed to improve workflow and ease use of multidimensional imaging data.
Designed for existing 3-D application developers, OpenRTRT is a software development kit that provides real-time ray-tracing capabilities, according to the Chelmsford, MA-based firm. Another new product, DirectViz, is an extension to version 6 of Mercury's Open Inventor 3-D graphics software suite.
For end users, Mercury is debuting Patchwork3D, a software workshop for interactive 3-D digital design. Patchwork 3D was produced by Lumiscaphe, a digital mock-up and 3-D real-time rendering developer, Mercury said.
