May 16, 2008 - At ASCs 2008, Megadyne featured “green” reusable and resposable electrosurgical technologies that are reportedly both environmentally and fiscally responsible.
One Megadyne Mega Soft reusable patient return electrode can eliminate, on average, 1,500 disposable sticky pads, said the company. In addition to decreasing waste, reusable and resposable technologies reportedly deliver savings to a facility’s bottom line by reducing purchasing frequency and disposal cost.
Also featured was the MEGADYNE E-Z Pen Electrosurgical Pencil, the 12-time use E-Z Pen produces 1/12th the waste of standard disposable electrosurgical pencils, said Megadyne. The Resposable Laparoscopic Electrodes featuring E-Z Clean MegaTIPs and Reusable Indicator Shafts and the Reusable Stainless Steel Laparoscopic Electrodes featuring Reusable Indicator Shafts were also on display.
