MediNotes Corp. released its latest version of its Web-based integrated electronic medical record (EHR) practice management (PM) solution MediNotes Clinician Spring R2.
MediNotes offers e-prescribing, patient portals, patient kiosks, image management. Among the new upgrades to MediNotes include payment links, electronic billing of secondary claims, an inventory control module, and a lab report sorting function.
Payments link permits users to view the patient's current collection status while in the payment screen. This facilitates collection of overdue payments when patients check out, helping to streamline billing and boosting cash flow, the company said.
The electronic secondary feature enables electronic billing of secondary claims to commercial plans by enabling practices to automatically capture adjustment codes for those claims by using electronic remittance advice to post payments. The previous release only allowed for electronic submission Medicare secondary claims, the company said.
The inventory module allows users to add the quantity on hand and the cost per each product from the total inventory products screen.
A new activity detail report enables users to group details according to insurers. It also has guarantor options to allow practices to associate multiple guarantors with a patient and to indicate which of them should be billed.
The systems IntelliFlow rules sort laboratory orders by whether they were ordered internally or externally, the company said.
In addition to MediNotes Clinician, the company also offers MediNotes e, an interoperable EHR. The two product offerings provide physicians the choice of either a stand-alone EHR or an integrated, single-database solution for EHR/PM.
