September 7, 2011 – The Sonography Chair, now available through Biodex, has a modern, ergonomic design, is manufactured with recycled materials and offers multiple adjustments for seat height, back height and backwards-tilt tension adjustment with integrated seat slider. The chair’s color matches the 700 Series of Biodex Ultrasound Tables with a foot ring for additional support and positioning.
The Sonography Chair reduces barriers between sonographer and patient, allowing correct scanning posture to prevent musculoskeletal injury. The open-frame design of the tables allows sonographers to get closer to the patient, especially useful for carotid imaging or long leg arterial scanning. The motorized Fowler Positioning is infinitely adjustable up to 80 degrees via hand controller. The leg section drops down to 40 degrees for patients with circulatory issues and 80 degrees for stirrup access.
Biodex meets the recommended guidelines of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and procedures outlined in the document entitled Sonography: Positioning Patients and Equipment, found on OSHA’s website.
