Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Chooses McKesson’s HIS

February 25, 2008 – Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary selected McKesson’s Paragon community hospital information system (HIS) to replace multiple legacy systems.

The goal for According to McKesson, the facility wanted to create an integrated technology platform that supported advanced clinical systems while removing the inefficiencies and costs associated with a highly interfaced system environment.

Plans call for Massachusetts Eye and Ear to implement the Paragon solution in an accelerated method, bringing up the revenue cycle, financial, supply chain, clinical and operating room management applications simultaneously, according to McKesson. The second phase of the initiative will focus on nursing assessment and care plan tools.
