September 8, 2011 – KOM Networks, provider of storage management solutions for secure archiving, compliant data protection and retention, announces the KOMpliance i-Series Archive Gateway.
The i-Gateway allows companies to add a secure universal archive repository using their Internet small computer system interface storage area network (iSCSI SAN) repository.
This will reduce expenses, complexity, and admin costs associated with iSCSI storage while increasing compliance levels and archived data protection.
York Hospital in York, Maine recently replaced their EMC Centera with the new system to file McKesson picture archiving and communication system (PACS) addressing HIPAA compliance and disaster recovery.
“The total cost of a KOMpliance archive storage solution combined with EqualLogic storage, saves us approximately $80,000 per year,” commented Kevin Foster, network administrator at York Hospital. “And that includes three years of 24/7 support.”
NMB Insurance Brokers in London deployed the system with their iSCSI SAN to provide compliant long-term archive for Open Text e-docs. “KOMpliance has helped us to easily fulfill our compliance requirements and limit our liability. Knowing our data is secure and our technology is sustainable, allows us to control our future costs and maximize our return on investment,” stated Simon Edwards, system manager at NMB.
The gateway combines high-end performance and advanced NAS features, while delivering “eWORM” tamperproof secure archives using iSCSI SAN storage resources.
