February 21, 2008 - The staff at Imaging Technology News (ITN) was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Samuel J. Dwyer, III, PhD, FSIIM, on February 5, 2008.
Dr. Dwyer, was a pioneer in digital medical imaging, and many referred to him as "The Father of PACS." We at ITN have been privileged to have a visionary such as Dr. Dwyer on our Advisory Board to guide and enrich our editorial scope. It is also notable that Dr. Dwyer was a SIIM Fellow.
We at ITN would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Dr. Dwyer's family and friends.
His family has requested that friends make a donation to the charity of their choice in Sam’s name instead of sending flowers.
