December 5, 2008 - Softek Solutions featured its lluminate, reportedly the first free-text search product to make data-mining within Philips iSite PACS.
The original Illuminate, released earlier this year, allows radiologists to retrieve reports and their images instantaneously and to tag, organize and share studies with colleagues. Clinicians can search for cases with simple text searches as if they were performing a Web search, or they can perform an advanced search using specific criteria. Radiologists can also be notified when a follow-up scan they recommended has been performed.
The Illuminate now allows radiologist to electronically communicate with clinicians across the PACS platform.
Radiologists can also create an Interesting Case tab, where they can flag, categorize and annotate exceptional studies to share with colleagues. Those cases may also be seen by other radiologists in the PACS enterprise.
The Illuminate is expected to be available to iSite users in early 2009.
