June 9, 2010 - As the competition heats up in the radiation therapy systems market, Tomotherapy Inc. announced today that it has signed an equipment supply group purchasing agreement with group purchasing organization (GPO) MedAssets.
The GPO will gain access to the Tomotherapy technology, an form of advanced radiation therapy, through an expanded radiation oncology portfolio. MedAssets is one of the largest group purchasing organizations in the United States, utilizing a national contract portfolio of more than 1,500 contracts to efficiently connect manufacturers, distributors and other suppliers with its more than 1,700 hospitals and over 40,000 nonacute health care provider customers.
