March 18, 2008 - GE Healthcare introduced a ceiling suspended digital radiographic system, the Definium 6000, that includes one or two flying detectors, and works to enable ease of use and flexibility while providing digital radiographic images, at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2008 in Vienna, Austria.
This new X-ray system incorporates the company's digital flat panel detector technology, measuring 41-by-41 cm, as well as the Definium common user interface and boasts an anatomical view-based digital image processing that automatically optimizes and enhances the quality of the captured image for the imaged anatomy, according to the company.
Other features include customizable image processing and automatic image storage and print with DICOM 3.0 networking capability to increases exam throughput and decrease examination times for patients.
