December 27, 2011 — GE Healthcare has partnered with HealthStream in a three-year agreement to offer Centricity University, a new blended learning experience for its Centricity software users in the United States. The new program is a training solution that includes unlimited access to online and classroom-based courses through one subscription service provided through HealthStream.
GE will make new Centricity University training courses available in January to Centricity PACS (picture archiving and communications system) customers, with plans to expand to other Centricity products thereafter.
For department heads, the program makes the planning of training purchases more predictable. It also offers more choices for hospital staff to get the training they need where and when it’s convenient. HealthStream’s learning management platform will provide for the delivery and management of online courses, webinars, and other training activities.
“This removes barriers for our customers that had been keeping them from maximizing their proficiency in radiology workflow driven by Centricity PACS,” said Jim Corrigan, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT.
