November 5, 2007 - Dilon Technologies will highlight Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI), a molecular imaging technique reportedly proven to be an effective tool in the early detection of breast cancer and in the differentiation of malignant and benign tumors.
The Dilon 6800 portable gamma camera has been optimized for breast imaging, and is said to overcome the limitations of standard gamma cameras in breast cancer diagnostics. Dilon’s high- resolution compact detector captures vital information by viewing metabolic activity via radiopharmaceutical uptake. It can detect cancers as small as 3 millimeters, see lesions independent of tissue density and is capable of providing all the same views as mammography.
