June 11, 2007 - Fujifilm Medical Systems USA introduced at SIIM 2007 the new XG2000, a computed radiography (CR) system that features two cassette slots but can be reconfigured to four, and is designed to target a niche in the emerging CR market for small hospitals and imaging centers.
This model allows first-time buyers of CR to cover their needs and eventually double the capacity of the system by activating two cassette insertion slots. Its four-slot upgrade XG5000 feature is a turbo mode, FastScan, that can boost the speed of the unit by 18 percent, allowing the reader to process hourly 122 imaging plates measuring 14 x 17 inches. Image preview is available 11 seconds after inserting the cassette. The system is currently shipping.
