November 19, 2007 - Aurora Imaging Technology Inc. has installed its Aurora 1.5Tesla Dedicated Breast MRI System, reportedly the only FDA-cleared dedicated breast MRI system designed for the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, in Ohio’s Toledo Hospital Breast Care Center as part of a joint venture with Toledo Radiological Associates .
The Aurora Imaging Technology 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System with Bilateral 3D SpiralRODEO is a fully integrated MRI system designed specifically for breast imaging. The system creates an elliptical, homogenous field of view, providing coverage of both breasts, chest wall and axillae in a single bilateral scan, reportedly without compromise in contrast or resolution. Because of SpiralRODEO’s improved acquisition efficiency (Three times greater than traditional 3DFT reconstruction), resolution is reportedly increased along with a decrease in scan time for better dynamics.
The system, the first of its kind installed at the Toledo hospital, will be a part of the soon-to-be all-digital imaging center at The Toledo Hospital Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Center, and will service the Toledo metro area including The Toledo Hospital, Flower Hospital, Bay Park Community Hospital and other ProMedica hospitals and satellite imaging centers across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
