June 25, 2007 – Life Spine announced FDA approval of its new static anterior cervical plating system, the Neo-SL, with an integrated lock that allows bone screws to be securely fixated without additional locking components. According to the company, the self-retaining screw capture mechanism prevents screw rotation and backout, while still allowing screw angulation.
Other features of the Neo-SL include: 2mm profile, 16mm plate width, fast-turning bone screws, large graft window for increased intra-operative and post-operative views of the graft site, self-drilling and self-tapping fixed and variable angle screws, and level 1-5 pre-lordosed plates in sizes 20mm to 111mm.
