Eclipse Integrated Treatment Planning supports multiple image modalities including CT, MR, PET and SPECT. Images can be fused automatically or manually and blended as desired. Multiple image modalities can be used throughout the virtual simulation and treatment planning processes.
The system harnesses the power of multimodality imaging to improve radiotherapy treatment targeting. It can combine images from PET, CT and MRI systems to create conformal treatment plans that target tumors while minimizing the exposure of surrounding tissues and organs. The Eclipse system is part of Varian Medical Systems’ broad initiative to develop and offer tools for integrating powerful imaging capabilities into radiation therapy treatment planning and treatment delivery.
A new version of the Eclipse radiotherapy treatment planning software substantially speeds up the process of planning complex radiotherapy treatments. The release incorporates new planning protocols and easy-to-use optimization tools that make it easier and faster to plan sophisticated cancer treatments like IMRT and IGRT.
The new Eclipse release incorporates a set of treatment plan templates that streamline the process of creating a personalized plan for each patient. Doctors can adjust their own previously established treatment protocols for specific types of cancer. Eclipse now also incorporates a new automated segmentation tool that speeds up contouring, the process by which doctors separate diseased tissues from surrounding healthy organs on a set of 3-D diagnostic images.
