Panasonic Communications Co. of North America (PCCNA) released two color scanners equipped with proprietary triple-sensor technology designed for the detection and prevention of common issues as double-feeding and embedded staples, featuring duplex scanning up to 160 images per minute at 300 dpi resolution.
The two models, the KV-S4085 and KV-S4065 have three sensor systems the include an optical sensor array designed to detects staples in corners, sides, top-center and bottom-center, and works to interrupt the scanning process before document damage can occur.
The ultrasonic sensors work to detect potential double feeds, while a mechanical slip-detection sensor is designed to automatically adjust the height of the auto document-feeding hopper to maintain paper-feed roller pressure.
The new scanners offer dual-resolution, high-speed, full-color duplex scanning up to 80ppm/160ipm at either 200 or 300 dpi, with a maximum resolution of 600 dpi and a "clamshell' design that works to give wide-open access to the entire paper path, reportedly providing easier roller replacement and jam clearing.
