NeuroLogica Corp. recently announced the launch of its CereTom OTOscan, an in-office CT scanner optimized for otolaryngology, reportedly bridging the gap between flat panel dental scanners commonly used in ENT offices and more expensive fixed CT scanners found in hospitals and imaging centers.
The CereTom OTOscan is said to provide high-quality images of both bone and soft tissue at an affordable price. Its compact size, low dose, low scatter and comprehensive functionality allow for in-office use, while its image compatibility with commonly-used surgical navigation systems permits pre-op planning and post-op imaging.
The CereTom OTOscan lets physicians scan patients directly during office visits, avoiding the need to refer patients to an imaging facility to receive head and neck diagnostic scans. This option reportedly enables ENT practices to increase profit margins by performing in-office scans to directly receive reimburseables.
