HF120/60HPPWV PowerPlus computed radiography systems by MinXray.
March 24, 2010 - As part of the Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and with funding funding provided by the U.S. Government, a team of technicians from the United States installed seven portable X-ray/digital computed radiography (CR) systems and equipment throughout Nigeria, Africa.
The goal of PEPFAR is to aid in reducing new HIV infections, while maintaining ongoing activities aimed at improving the quality of treatment and care, and mitigating the impact of HIV/ AIDS on individuals and households.
The CR systems purchased through the program included the HF120/60HPPWV PowerPlus, a portable CR provided by MinXray, and Carestream POC 140 CR computed radiography systems, which at some locations were the first medical imaging systems to be installed.
There were several implementing partners, including the University of Maryland and Columbia University AIDS relief programs, in addition to technicians from MinXay.
