Consorta Announces Purchasing Agreement with Varian

Consorta Inc. has announced a new purchasing agreement with Varian Medical Systems Inc. for advanced radiotherapy systems for treating cancer and neurological disorders. The agreement covers all of Varian’s equipment and software for image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), as well as Varian’s brachytherapy equipment and software.
This agreement will bring Varian’s Clinac and Trilogy medical linear accelerators, the Acuity simulator, Eclipse treatment planning software and the ARIA oncology information system to Consorta Members.
“We believe that our relationship will bring great benefit to Consorta members and, most importantly, to the patients in communities that are served by the talented clinicians delivering cancer care at their member facilities,” said David Berkowitz, senior director of national accounts for Varian.
