July 18, 2007 - CIVCO Medical Solutions will present its new carbon fiducial markers that reportedly optimize imaging characteristics for emerging IGRT modalities, such as kV imaging and cone-beam CT, at the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), July 22-26, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN.
CIVCO’s carbon markers reportedly produce clearly identifiable images with now widely available kV imagers, providing enhanced resolution with low-density materials. The new markers may also eliminate artifacts in CT scans.
The carbon markers are designed to provide MR locator points for accurate image fusion and are reportedly ideal for a wide variety of imaging modalities, including X-ray, mammography, fluoroscopy, kV, CT, MRI and ultrasound.
Made with a combination of a ceramic core and a biocompatible carbon fiber coating, the markers come sterilized and preloaded for convenience.
