September 3, 2008 - The 2008 ASCO Children's Oncology Group (COG) Symposium is scheduled for Oct. 21 in Denver, CO.
The symposium, "Ethnic and Cultural Diversity: Relevance for Childhood Cancer Research," will provide attendees with the latest information and data on the impact of ethnic and cultural diversity in researching and treating childhood cancer. It will cover several topics including: the concept of race and ethnicity in biomedical research, impact of race and ethnicity on COG sponsored clinical research, communication and research conducted in a multicultural, diverse environment and a panel discussion regarding ethnic diversity as it impacts the medical experience and interest to participate in research trials.
