March 10, 2016 — On Feb. 19-20, Brainlab sponsored the Sixth International Conference of the Novalis Circle in Munich, Germany, bringing together international experts in radiation oncology and neurosurgery. The conference served as a forum for a cross-functional community, including radiation oncology and neurosurgery, to strategically address timely topics surrounding brain and spine cancer disease management.
Conference participants focused on stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for brain and spine across multidisciplinary cancer teams. Practice-oriented presentations and panel discussions revolved around five main clinical treatment areas: brain metastases, primary benign tumors, vascular malformations, spine tumors and new radiosurgery technologies. A total of 30 SRS and SBRT experts made presentations, including Douglas Kondziolka, M.D., Jörg-Christian Tonn, M.D., Reinhard Wurm, M.D., Mark H. Bilsky, M.D., and Timothy D. Solberg, Ph.D.
