December 4, 2014 — Biodex showcased its latest line of medical imaging tables and Clear-Lead Shielding at RSNA 2014.

Biodex C-Arm Tables are designed for image-guided procedures where stability, access and precise, quiet, vibration-free positioning are essential, such as: surgical, pain management, urology, brachytherapy and 3-D imaging. The products functional design provides complete access while minimizing radiation exposure to clinicians.

With a large radiolucent area, free-float X-Y tabletop, motorized control of height, lateral roll, Trendelenburg motions and the catheter tray extension, the Surgical C-Arm Table - 840 is ideal for cardiovascular procedures. It offers quick and safe tabletop positioning ensured by the portable hand-held and foot operated controllers, which can be positioned from any point around the table.

Biodex’s 3-D imaging C-Arm Table - 820 is designed for use with 3-D C-Arms for seed implantation, urology, thoracic/vascular and other general C-Arm applications. The narrow, low-attenuation carbon-fiber tabletop is cantilevered to accommodate portable 3-D C-Arms.

In addition to its line of C-Arm Tables, Biodex featured the SoundPro Combination Table, designed to accommodate both ultrasound and echocardiography procedures.  Recent ergonomic enhancements include a cardiac drop-down cushion, which releases from either side of the table, providing open access to the patient’s thorax area for an unencumbered apical approach and flush-mounted side rails, enabling closer access to the patient, without sonographer contortion.  The side rails stow beneath the table when not in use, eliminating obstruction.

The Clear-Lead Personal Mobile Barrier and Clear-Lead Mobile X-Ray Barrier provide .5 mm LE radiation protection. The Personal Mobile Barrier has a unique hourglass design allowing hands-on patient access. This versatile, lightweight barrier offers height adjustability to protect the user, whether seated or standing, essential for urologists, anesthesiologists, pain-care physicians, X-ray technologists and more.  The window is anatomically positioned with cutouts for the user’s arms, allowing continuous contact with the patient while maximizing protection.

The unique hour-glass contour of the Personal Mobile Barrier provides “hands-on” patient access while providing radiation protection (0.5 mm LE) where it’s needed.

This versatile, lightweight barrier offers the distinct convenience of height adjustability to protect the user, whether seated or standing. This feature is an essential advantage for all urologists, anesthesiologists, pain-care physicians, x-ray technologists and more.

Constructed of Clear-Lead acrylic, the window is anatomically positioned with cutouts for the user’s arms to maintain continuous hands-on contact with the patient while maximizing protection.

Featuring an easy-roll, four-caster base and two grip handles, the lightweight barrier (51 lb) is easy to maneuver and positions flush to the table for total patient access.

The Mobile X-Ray Barriers provide ionizing radiation protection and is durable, shatter resistant and easy to manuever.
