July 16, 2007 – The Beekley Corp. recently announced the introduction of Blossoms, a line of flower shaped, nature inspired Mammography SPOTS designed to help the technologist relax the patient and obtain optimal positioning in screening mammography.

The new Blossoms markers were inspired by recent studies by Rutgers University, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, which confirm that flowers have an overwhelmingly positive impact on a person’s mood.

“Patient anxiety remains the biggest challenge in proper positioning for breast imagers. Many healthcare experts agree that beautiful images can serve as an effective distraction for women undergoing mammography,” said Melissa Vibberts, mammography products manager at Beekley. “We see more and more facilities remodeling their mammography suites to have a feminine touch that is more inviting and soothing.”
