October 11, 2007 – Barco recently announced a new wide-screen surgical display solution with full high-definition resolution, reportedly featuring broad input connectivity, offering a versatile display solution for HD endoscopy cameras, room and boom cameras, ultrasound, PACS and patient information.
According to the company, the MDSC-2124 is fitted with the latest generation high-bright, high-contrast color LCD technology. The display’s color gamut and wide viewing angle aims to give surgeons the information and the color accuracy they need to perform surgery with maximum efficiency. Surgical staff can select picture-in-picture or picture-by-picture views from multiple input signals, giving clinicians access to information from multiple sources.
The display also features a sealed fanless design, which is designed to avoid the spread of contaminants in the sterile field. The MDSC-2124 also includes a low-voltage, external DC power supply that can easily be routed through a boom structure up to 100 feet away from the display.
