January 20, 2014 — Barco, a healthcare imaging company, introduced the MXRT-7500, a 3-D PCI Express (PCIe) display controller. The board is compatible with the DisplayPort 1.2 interface standard and features the PCIe 3.0 interface and third-generation AMD FireProTM 3-D technology, facilitating quick loading of medical images and large datasets.
The MXRT-7500 is fitted with 4 GB of memory and a GPU that quickly process large medical datasets. The MXRT-7500 supports DirectX, OpenGL and OpenCL, and is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7. The board can drive up to four full-resolution displays over DisplayPort to aid in 4-head configurations. The design is built to save space on the PC, simplify installation and reduce ownership costs.
“Compared to the previous generation, the MXRT-7500 achieves, on average, a 34% performance improvement on 2-D benchmarks, a 28% improvement on OpenGL 3-D benchmarks and a 40% improvement on DirectX 3-D benchmarks,” said Becky Hiicle, product manager of display controllers at Barco.
