September 8, 2008 - Breast MRI of Oklahoma and the Breast Center of Hattiesburg Clinic are the first two facilities to receive accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Magnetic Resonance Laboratories (ICAMRL) for the Aurora 1.5Tesla Dedicated Breast MRI System.
The ICAMRL accreditation, which accredited the centers for breast MRI units specifically designed from the ground up for the detection, diagnosis and management of breast disease, sets a high standard for health centers and meets the requirements of third-party payors mandating official accountability to guarantee reimbursement for insured patients.
The ICAMRL accreditation program is a process of ongoing quality assurance, and the accreditation decision is based on substantial compliance with The ICAMRL Standards, through peer review and then finalized by the ICAMRL board of directors. Facilities that have processes in place to assure quality patient care, provide high quality images and comprehensive interpretations earn the accreditation.
