The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) has announced the 2006 recipients of the 2006 Junior Faculty Career Research Training Award and Resident/Fellows in Radiation Oncology Research Seed Grants, worth a total of $240,000.
The ASTRO Junior Faculty Career Research Training Award was given to Andy J. Minn, M.D., Ph.D. The $150,00 per year award gives junior physicians or faculty the opportunity to focus radiation-related research in radiation oncology, biology, physics or outcomes research.
Grants up to $30,000 for a one-year project for the ASTRO Residents/Fellows in Radiation Oncology Research Seed Grants were awarded to Roberto Diaz, M.D., Ph.D., Max Diehn, M.D., Ph.D. and Aaron C. Spalding, M.D., Ph.D. These grants are for residents or fellows planning a career focusing on basic science or clinical research.
