June 27, 2008 - GE Healthcare IT said today Marion General Hospital, a 165-bed hospital in Marion, OH, signed a seven-year agreement for remote hosting services for GE Healthcare's Centricity Enterprise electronic health record system.
Marion General Hospital is implementing a comprehensive clinical information system while maintaining a flexible technology model with the ability for doctors to remotely access the system. GE said the system will allow seamless access to health information, expedited clinical information and offer enhanced tools for clinical decision support. The facility will also install bar-code medication administration, multi-disciplinary documentation and pharmacy and orders capabilities.
"Our physicians, in particular, will benefit greatly from Centricity since it provides remote access via a secure internet site, which in turn, greatly improves the speed and ease of connecting from a physician's office or home," said Jerry Feyn, vice president of finance, Marion General Hospital.
Centricity Enterprise will also provide Marion General with nursing documentation software, including the Clinician Assessments and Noting and Clinician Homebase.
