March 11, 2009 - Navilyst Medical has added a 3 French diameter Vaxcel PICC with PASV Valve technology to is Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) product line, which it is showing at SIR 2009.
This new 3 F catheter is designed to expand the application of PASV Valve Technology, particularly in pediatric and elderly patient populations, two patient groups that tend to have increased risk of infection due to immature or weakened immune systems.
Navilyst Medical’s proprietary PASV Valve Technology has been shown to reduce rates of catheter occlusions (blockages) and catheter-related bloodstream infections.
