The DR solution, exclusively sold from Viztek is ideal for various settings that require a low cost and space-saving solution; the ViZion DR Straight Arm offers superior image quality, available picture archiving and communications system (PACS) integration, and access to Viztek's front-end software.
On average, PACS systems are being replaced every five to seven years. When a facility must choose a new system, there are many factors to take into consideration.
As the year draws to a close, ITN asked a few industry veterans to share their views about current issues shaping medical imaging today and what they foresee for the industry in 2012. Following are their responses to our Q&A.

July 22, 2011— Viztek announced the release of the ViZion Digital Radiology (DR) solution for the mobile imaging market priced at less than $55,000. Viztek’s mobile offering includes a 14 x17 inch cesium tethered panel and an integration kit for use with most portable/mobile X-ray units.
June 10, 2011 – Viztek debuted an exam turnaround time (TAT) management feature for its Opal-RAD PACS. Designed to streamline the workflow of teleradiology practices, the feature prioritizes exams based on a client’s contracted time to perform study reading. The feature uses a color-based system to notify radiologists of the remaining time before a scheduled reading must be completed. After users input reading time parameters for each facility, worklist population and priority level is fully automatic.
