March 4, 2011 – The first clinical results from a research project focused on spectral (color) mammography shows promising diagnostic benefits for breast cancer. Published in the February issue of Radiology, the results will be presented at the 2011 European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna, March 5.
Sectra will highlight its latest Web-based Breast Imaging picture archiving and communication system (PACS) at the National Interdisciplinary Breast Center Conference. The PACS enables physicians to view breast studies across multiple modalities from within a single workstation.
February 7, 2011 – The latest version of an orthopaedic PACS and visualization table will be on display at the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) in San Diego, Calif. Sectra’s Orthopedic PACS, which features a pre-operative planning system, and its Visualization Table will be demonstrated Feb. 15-19.
This unique solution for collaborative diagnostic work improves decision-making efficiency in acute care, allowing physicians to efficiently set the care strategy in multi-trauma cases. It also serves as a platform for medical education, clinical conferences and virtual autopsies.
Sectra highlighted it latest radiology information system (RIS) release at RSNA 2010. The Web-based system is designed to be flexible and scalable for use by small imaging centers and large hospitals. New features include: embedded Nuance PowerScribe Speech Recognition, protocol worklist, resident reading workflow and batch printing enhancements.
January 3, 2011 — The MicroDose mammography system has received a Product Quality Leadership, Women's Health Imaging Europe 2010 Award from Frost & Sullivan. The award is based on evaluations in several areas, including product performance, reliability and design.
Over the past several years, the focus on new technology at the annual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) scientific meeting in Chicago has moved away from new devices to new software. RSNA 2010, held Nov. 28 through Dec. 2, emphasized this trend.
December 2, 2010 – Analyzing historical images in radiology databases can save millions in osteoporosis costs, according to data presented at the 2010 RSNA meeting. Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden used Sectra’s Digital X-ray Radiogrammetry (DXR) method to identify patients who subsequently suffered a hip fracture.
November 29, 2010 – A new visualization table features a 46-inch medical multi-touch display where multiple users can interact collaboratively with the real-size 3-D images. The Sectra Visualization Table helps give users a deeper understanding and insight into the functions and processes inside the body.
