August 4, 2011 – IBA announced at the recent American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, that it has enabled Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Mass., to open its hospital’s radiation therapy vault quickly and efficiently and therefore treat a greater number of cancer patients. IBA provided radiation therapy commissioning services with its Blue Phantom solution and advanced linear diode array (LDA-99) technology.

May 9, 2011 – IBA announced today at the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology conference that it has signed an agreement with Axios Oncology for the worldwide distribution of the company’s radiation therapy software solutions, RadCheck and BrachyCheck. With the addition of this software suite to its product portfolio, IBA offers enhanced solutions for radiation therapy to address quality assurance and patient safety needs.

January 03, 2011 IBA's Compass 3-D treatment verification and dose analysis software helps reduce radiation exposure to critical structures. The system creates a beam model and measures 20 millisecond multileaf collimator (MLC) treatments and integrates this into gantry positions. The system then imports this data and reconstructs the dose using the patient's computed tomography (CT) data sets.

November 8, 2010 – Improved treatment planning software from IBA has algorithms to warn clinicians if radiation levels are too high in critical structures during radiation therapy. IBA showed its latest Compass Software advances during ASTRO 2010, Oct. 31 through Nov. 4 in San Diego.
