November 30, 2011 — Carestream expanded its leadership in digital radiography with a second generation of its innovative wireless, cassette-size Carestream DRX detector. The new digital radiography (DR) detector is now available worldwide and weighs 7.9 pounds. It displays a preview image in less than four seconds to enhance radiology workflow. An optional three-second exposure mode improves medical imaging of larger patients and enhances image quality for healthcare providers with lower power X-ray generators.

November 30, 2011 – Brainlab announced the launch of VoyantLink, a cloud-based image sharing, viewing and enrichment platform for clinicians, hospitals and imaging centers at RSNA. VoyantLink is the first service/product of its kind to move beyond image sharing to an effective cloud-based workspace, where users are able to access their images in the cloud, as well as launch and employ clinical planning tools and push completed plans to any device or storage location.

November 30, 2011 –– Parascript, the image analysis and pattern recognition technology provider, announced the release of AccuDetect 5.0, the next generation of its computer-aided detection (CAD) software, aimed at helping radiologists improve breast cancer detection. AccuDetect 5.0 makes significant performance improvements over its predecessor and further reduces the potential for false-positive rates when detecting suspicious lesions on mammograms.

November 30, 2011 — Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc., launched the Aplio 500 ultrasound system, enabling clinicians to diagnose using advanced visualization tools. The system is 510(k) cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and displayed at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 27 – Dec. 2.

November 28, 2011 — At RSNA 2011, GE Healthcare introduced the innovative magnetic resonance (MR) Patient Experience Suite, part of its healthymagination strategy to improve the quality of patient care. The suite aims to “humanize” radiology by softening the clinical look, feel and sound of a traditional MR exam.
