Virtual and Augmented Reality
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are being used in healthcare for clinician training, patient education, advanced visualization of complex anatomy in medical imaging and for procedural guidance. Augmented reality fuses images over the person's field of view to augment what they see. This is also called mixed reality. Virtual reality uses a visor headset to completely immerse the user in a virtual environment.
