Issues involving “use cases,” such as opioid addiction, pediatric care and heart failure, promise to draw the biggest ever attendance to the Interoperability Showcase, which will be held during the annual meeting of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Feb. 11-15 in Orlando.

International Medical Solutions (IMS) announced a solution that will enable radiologists and other clinicians to use machine learning (ML) modeling to triage studies and focus on medical images that need immediate attention. The platform will use a standard file format, enabling any artificial intelligence (AI) company to add their own model to the workflow.

Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) is trialing clinical collaboration technology from Barco for its Multi-disciplinary Cancer Conferences. The primary focus of this cooperation is to streamline the preparation, management and follow-up of these meetings. With the Barco Synergi solution, preparation for the conference is more efficient, the meeting experience is seamless for both local and remote participants, and critical follow-up actions are handled promptly.

Canon Medical Systems USA Inc. recently introduced a new angiography configuration featuring its Alphenix Sky + C-arm and Hybrid Catheterization Tilt/Cradle Table for interventional procedures with its Aquilion One/Genesis Edition computed tomography (CT) system. The new pairing, called the Alphenix 4-D CT, allows clinicians to efficiently plan, treat and verify in a single clinical setting.
