Companies sign multi-year agreement to provide radiologists with automatic registration of medical images

November 25, 2019 — Blackford, the centralized medical imaging platform, today announced that it had signed a multi-year agreement with IBM to integrate the Blackford Registration into IBM’s AI-ready workflow platform, Merge PACS.

Combining the capabilities of Merge PACS with automated image registration from Blackford, users across Merge PACS’ installed base will be able to quickly locate and compare findings and model new measurements based on past exams, resulting in enhanced quality reporting. Blackford Registration will be deployed to customer sites using Blackford Platform – the company’s flagship product that simplifies implementation and management of imaging applications.

Merge PACS, an offering from IBM Watson Health, is an AI-ready workflow platform that is designed to simplify physicians’ reading activities and can empower IT leaders with advanced control of the flow of studies throughout the enterprise. Beyond enabling the consolidation of multiple reading specialty systems, Merge PACS is designed to handle high-enterprise imaging volumes, perform in diverse reading environments, and helps providers to scale their delivery of care.

IBM Watson Health will demonstrate registration running on Merge PACS on its booth (#6100) at the RSNA 2019 annual meeting in December.
