June 18, 2019 — Washington Open MRI (WOMRI) has selected RamSoft’s PowerServer RIS/PACS (radiology information system/picture archiving and communication system) to unify its diagnostic imaging workflow into a single database solution in its six facilities across the state of Maryland.
WOMRI, headquartered in Rockville, Md., was founded in 1993. It features what it calls the world’s first and most advanced positional Fonar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Now, with six locations, WOMRI offers 12-24 hour turnaround times on MRIs and within-the-hour STAT reports.
WOMRI’s founder, Phyllis Newfield, sought to implement the best state-of-the-art integrated RIS/PACS solution that would centralize the company’s workflow in a single software for better patient care and position WOMRI for future expansion and growth. “Managing multiple vendor platforms costs us a lot of time and money to subscribe and maintain, and due to poor workflow, it is easy to make mistakes which affect revenue,” Newfield noted. “We want to centralize our operations into a single software, so we can minimize manual entries, reduce overhead cost, and most especially make our practice more efficient and provide the best workflow to meet the needs of our patients.”
The RamSoft RIS/PACS single-database system is hosted on Microsoft Azure.
